Doctor Who: trailer

One single adventure across 8 new episodes.

A trailer has been released for S13 of Doctor Who.

And the pandemic has prompted the show to opt for a single adventure across 8 episodes.

Speaking at a Comic Con panel showrunner Chris Chibnall said, “The big thing that we’re going to be doing this year is it’s all one story, so every episode is one chapter in a bigger story.”

He continued, “There were two ways you could go: we’re just going to do lots of tiny episodes in one room with no monsters, or we could throw down the gauntlet and go ‘we’re going to do the biggest story we’ve ever done, we’re going to go all kinds of different places, we’re going to have all kinds of characters and monsters, and it’s all going to be part of a bigger whole.’

“I think it’s definitely the most ambitious thing we’ve done since we’ve been on the series.”

The show is expected later this year but a date is yet to be announced.

“We pick it up with the Doctor and Yas who’ve been traveling together for some time, we come and meet them mid-adventure, and they stumble across some man named Dan Lewis, that’s all I’m going to tell you,” says Chibnall.

  1. Yep I agree with Harry. While ever Doctor Who remains a primarily in-house BBC production, there’s always gonna be something — arguably lots of things — that are bigger budget, just as there always has been. Doesn’t make them “better” by default. “Better” is a subjective multi-faceted concept anyway 🙂

  2. how to wreak a show in a season virtue signaling woke it has nothing to do with Dr who badly written directed and acted the last great dr who was matt smilth rip dr who

  3. A give nothing away trailer but excellent news all the same, Disney+’s Loki was a good fill-in as a what Doctor Who would look like on a bigger budget type thing. Well as far as the tv series goes anyway, the Paul McGann Doctor Who movie in 1996 did as well, however that aside there’s something nicer about the cheaper BBC Series that appeals more (bit like how Legends of Tomorrow does for me as well).
