  3. In much the same vein, Sky News yesterday briefly had “NSW records XX local Covid cases” at the start of the NSW Premier’s news conference, waiting for the XX number to be filled in (assuming they hadn’t switched to roman numerals!).

Mistakes happen all the time now on the news, from having the wrong location at the bottom, to having the wrong number on screen (like showing 100,000,000 when it was meant to be 1,000,000 regarding risk of blood clots from AZ) and wrongly depicting LGA’s on maps of Sydney – like last night on Nine news that did not properly show the LGA areas of Fairfield, Canterbury Bankstown and Liverpool on the map of Sydney – Canterbury Bankstown was bigger than it really is, while Liverpool was about one third its actual size.
