One for pop music fans next week, with ABC TV Plus screening 2021 music doco a-ha: The Movie.
Morton Harket, Magne Furuholmen and Paul Waaktaar became global sensations with Take On Me... and not forgetting The Sun Always Shines on TV.
This film follows a-ha on tour, telling the story of how three young Norwegians followed their dream of becoming pop stars. When Take On Me reached number 1 in 1985 the dream came true. Or did it?
9pm Wednesday September 15 on ABC.

So a brief glimpse on the internet indicates A-ha: the movie is one hour 49 minutes long. So why did the ABC feel the need to truncate it to an hour? Or was that all they were given?
I did check out the unplugged versions of Take On Me & Sun Always Shines, rome@home, just gorgeous, thanks for that. So much so I’ve ordered the MTV Unplugged Summer Solstice CD/DVD set.
It would depend what was sold as an international version by the distributor.
Yes Scoundrel Days, Hunting High and Low and Minor Air Major Sky are just three amazing albums from their entire outstanding catalogue..
An underrated band, for sure – the Scoundrel Days album has been a favourite of mine for as long as I can remember.
Robin I agree that Scoundrel Days is an incredible album. And their unplugged versions of Take On Me & The Sun…from a few years ago are just sublime.
