  1. Yeah I’m not overly surprised. I didn’t like it too much, there were flashes of brilliance but it was just so pretentious… it thought it was more clever and important than it really was tbh.

    1. Just wondering if you watched the complete 16 eps?
While no one in our family is part of the LGBTQ community, this show was enjoyed and season 2 eagerly awaited.

      1. Yeah I watched all 16. As I said I thought there were fleeting moments of great TV, even profound at times, but it was way too steeped in its own self importance to sustain any level of greatness. Credit that the teens looked like teens, that has always been an ongoing problem that too many American shows featuring “teens” has, Genera+ion got that right… I just kept thinking that the show’s ambition to showcase realness was undercut and juxtaposed by the nonsensical way in which the characters spoke and acted… it just wasn’t believable. The overuse of hand held camera (which has become a lazy tactic to show grittiness) and manufactured ‘real world’ drama has been done far better and far more interestingly than what was on offer. Ultimately it was a show that wanted to be edgy, and break new ground, but it was just swallowed up by its own sense of entitlement and self importance. It was nowhere near as ground breaking as it thought it was.
Just my two cents. I’m glad you liked it tho!
