Cast announced for Queer as Folk reboot

Reboot based on UK original is set in New Orleans.

Cast have been announced for the reboot of Queer as Folk.

They include Candace Grace (Acts of Crime), Johnny Sibilly (Pose, Hacks), Devin Way (Grey’s Anatomy, Station 19), and Fin Argus (Clouds, The Gifted). They join previously announced Jesse James Keitel.

According to Deadline, Grace will portray a non-binary professor navigating the rocky transition from punk to parenthood. Sibilly stars as a successful lawyer who is not as put together as he seems. Way will bring to life a charming and sometimes chaotic commitment-phobe who finds a reason to stay in New Orleans after tragedy rocks his community. Argus will play a cocky high schooler whose confidence belies his lack of real-world experience.

The new-look series, based on the original by British writer Russell T. Davies (previously adapted for the USA) is set in New Orleans.

An Australian broadcaster is yet to be confirmed, but likely to fall under Stan’s deal with NBCU.

  1. Happy to be proven wrong, but I’m prepared to be very disappointed by this. Feel like it’s going to be way too woke. The UK original and US remake were fantastic indulgent television.
