Changes at trade publications

Trent Thomas becomes Mediaweek editor, David Tiley departs Screen Hub.

There have been changes at trade news sites this past week.

James Manning, Editor of Mediaweek. is moving to a role as Editor-in-Chief, with Deputy Editor Trent Thomas promoted to Editor.

Thomas (pictured top left) joined Mediaweek in 2018 as the digital editor before being promoted to deputy editor at the start of 2020. He started the digital media company Chattr in 2015 and has held various marketing positions throughout his career.

“Under Trent’s guidance, Mediaweek has continued to grow its audience, setting new YOY highs each month during 2021. With the reshaped team and several initiatives we are soon to introduce, we are confident of keeping the momentum as we enter 2022,” said Manning (second from left).

“After editing the title for 22 years, I am looking forward to being able to step back a little and focus more on the content and long-term planning.”

Alisha Buaya will also join as a senior journalist from Daily Mail, joining Tess Connery.

Meanwhile ScreenHub‘s veteran David Tiley, who was a long term Editor and then Film / Policy journalist, leaves the subscription platform after more than 15 years. Screen Hub is part of the Arts Hub group, with managing editor Edmond Tran and George Dunford as Content Director.
