Anyone who has ever worked on a crew knows how difficult it can be when external noises -trains, planes, automobiles- are ruining your ability to get that shot in the can.
But what about a bloke singing?
In Washington Square Park, New York, the Law & Order: SVU crew was faced with just that dilemma in a public space when star Mariska Hargitay used all her charm to ask a man for his co-operation.
“Your singing was beautiful, but we’re just trying to get the shot. Is it okay if you don’t sing when we say ‘Action’?” she asked.
It’s not clear, on a video which has gone viral, what request the man made in return, but Hargitay was agreeable.
“We’ll make a deal,” she says on the video. “I’m happy to do that for you, it’s just that we’re shooting, so it doesn’t work for the scene. Is that okay? I’ll get to you, though.”
SVU showrunner Warren Leight shared the video, writing “What other #1 on the call sheet could do this? We all [love] Mariska.”
