2022 NRL season lands for FOX League

FOX League launched its 2022 NRL season at CommBank Stadium in Parramatta today.

Joining the channel is Benji Marshall after a 19-year career across four clubs, who arrived alongside new channel ambassadors Josh Addo-Carr and Jessica Sergis, via helicopter.

FOX Sports Executive Director, Steve Crawley, said: “Last year we saw record numbers on FOX League and Kayo. Every year this great game seems to get bigger and better.”

“FOX League has a world class group of experts and callers and this year we are adding the great Benji Marshall. Our highest rating shows NRL 360 and The Matty Johns Show will return and we are working hard to add to our in-game innovations this season.”

Braith Anasta is also a new co-host of NRL 360.

Live coverage of pre-season trial games begins this Friday, February 18.

FOX League’s team of experts for the 2022 season feature some of the biggest names to have ever played the game, along with the best line-up of respected commentators, reports and presenters. Led by Matty Johns, Cooper Cronk and Braith Anasta alongside rugby league legends and fellow premiership winners Gorden Tallis, Mick Ennis, Greg Alexander, Corey Parker and now Benji Marshall.

The best in the business will continue to steer footy fans through each day of live action from Thursday – Sunday with FOX League the only place to catch every game of every round live and ad-break free during play.

Kicking off every round on Thursday night from 7.00pm will be Thursday Night League hosted by Jess Yates, followed by a prime-time match. Meanwhile Friday Night Football with Hannah Hollis brings you exclusive coverage of the double-header from 5.00pm.

Coverage of the NRLW kicks off an action-packed Super Saturday ahead of FOX League’s exclusive triple-header hosted by Braith Anasta. The Sunday Ticket with Lara Pitt will also start with an NRLW game followed by two NRL matches to round out the weekend.

When the ball is in play, experienced commentators Andrew Voss, Dan Ginnane, Warren Smith, Matt Russell and Brenton Speed will cover the ups and downs of each match for fans.

Complementing the on-field action is FOX League’s extensive line-up of entertainment throughout the week. Returning in 2022 will be favourites NRL 360, The Late Show with Matty Johns, Sunday Night with Matty Johns and The Fan.

New to the FOX League programming slate in 2022 is ‘Benji’ on Monday nights at 7.30pm. The newest recruit to the FOX League family Benji Marshall will be joined by current players and guests to dissect the round from his unique perspective.

NRL 360 will remain unmissable programming Monday to Wednesday nights with news from every angle covered be Paul Kent who will be joined at the desk this season by new co-host Braith Anasta alongside journalists Phill “Buzz Rothfield, James Hooper and other guests.

On Tuesday nights, three of FOX League’s biggest shows will rotate in block programming throughout the season, headed up by Face to Face with Matty Johns, The Matty Johns Podcast as well as League Legends.

The formidable combination of Matty Johns, Gorden Tallis and dynamic duo Fletch and Hindy return for The Late Show with Matty Johns on Thursday nights dissecting all the action in their own unique style.

After every Super Saturday Andrew Voss and Lara Pitt are back with The Fan, which looks at rugby league through the historical and quirky lens of the game’s biggest fanatics.

FOX League’s flagship entertainment show Sunday Night with Matty Johns will see enigmatic host Matty Johns joined by Emma Freedman and others to look at the lighter side of league each week.
