UK psychological drama Close to Me premieres this week on BBC First.

This is a 6 part series featuring Christopher Eccleston, Connie Nielsen, Lorraine Burroughs, Nick Blood, Leanne Best, Susan Lynch, Tom Taylor and Rosy McWen.

Close to Me is based on Amanda Reynolds’ gripping and claustrophobic novel of the same name and is a brooding, inventive, darkly funny psychological drama that explores the secrets and lies at the heart of a marriage. An exploration of how it can take both parties to cause a break down. It’s also a six part psychological drama ‘who done it’. As well as the dramatic twists and turns of the plot, it also doesn’t shy away from exploring, in all its painful detail, something we don’t see very often; a female mid-life crisis.
