Airdate: The Dropout

Money. Romance. Tragedy. Deception. Does Disney+ still stand for family audiences?

I’m not sure if Disney+ is changing its profile of late, given it will now screen the upcoming series The Dropout starring Amanda Seyfried.

Disney+ says it has parental controls in place but it does feel like the brand is straying from its traditional family base.

Nevertheless there is a topline cast including Naveen Andrews, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Kate Burton, Stephen Fry, Michel Gill, LisaGay Hamilton, William H. Macy, Elizabeth Marvel, Laurie Metcalf, Dylan Minnette, Alan Ruck, Sam Waterson, Michaela Watkins and more.

Money. Romance. Tragedy. Deception. From Executive Producer Elizabeth Meriwether, “The Dropout” is the story of Elizabeth Holmes (Amanda Seyfried) and Theranos, an unbelievable tale of ambition and fame gone terribly wrong. How did the world’s youngest self-made billionaire lose it all in the blink of an eye?

The series is executive produced by showrunner Elizabeth Meriwether, Liz Heldens, Liz Hannah, Katherine Pope, Rebecca Jarvis, Victoria Thompson, and Taylor Dunn. Michael Showalter directs multiple episodes and serves as an executive producer along with his Semi-Formal Productions producing partner Jordana Mollick.

Three episodes on 3 March on Disney+, with new episodes streaming weekly.

  1. As far as I tell Disney+ is going to get an administrative shakeup over the next few months, the focus will be on making profits for Disney shareholders after a long period of big spending and studio/company acquisitions, so some of the long term producer contracts will be revised or withdrawn as new creatives enter the Disney universe, especially when Disney franchises like Star Wars have taken a critical beating lately. Viewers should expect a few changes in showrunners and script writing as well, the success of Sony Pictures ‘Spider-Man No Way Home’ opened a few eyes after some less than satisfactory cinema and TV releases by Disney standards in recent times, COVID or not.

  2. I will interested how it compares with the doco The Inventor: Out for Blood in Silicon Valley she has creepy eyes but she conned the likes of bill clinton and many others everyone loves a winner even when there not nobody checked if the machine worked not even walmart who put the machine in all of there stores
