Newly launched US comedy Somebody Somewhere has been renewed for a second season.
The series stars Bridget Everett as Sam, a nihilistic Kansan woman struggling to fit into her hometown. She grapples with grief from the death of her sister as well as complicated relationships with her parents and surviving sister, but finds that singing is her saving grace, which leads her on a journey to discover herself and a new community of outsiders.
“Bridget Everett brings such warmth to the screen, it’s been an absolute joy to see audiences share a sense of belonging with this ensemble,” said Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO Programming. “We’re delighted to have Hannah and Paul remind us all where we come from in another season of Somebody Somewhere.
The series inspired by Everett’s own life debuted last month on FOX Showcase.
