Respected industry ‘bible’ Variety is set to launch an Australian edition magazine.
Independent publishing group The Brag Media has licensed the publication with plans for an Australian edition on newsstands later this year.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports the magazine is likely to run quarterly, with local stories across the stage and screen sector.
“Variety is the most authoritative and trusted source of entertainment business news, recognised and respected throughout the world,” a spokesperson for The Brag Media said. “The Brag Media… looks forward to revealing some exciting plans for a local edition of the iconic masthead in early 2022.”
The Brag is an independent publisher of music magazines, The Brag, Tone Deaf and Rolling Stone Australia, and this week announces it has bought trade publication, The Music Network, from owner Jake Challenor.
Variety has previously published limited edition Australian issues.

Seriously?
Quarterly?
In this day and age of the internet?
David, you’re a month early!
If I remember, the Hollywood reporter also had an edition here in Aus?
