Friday Flashback: Winky Dink
....and now a weather report brought to you by Winky Dink.

This week’s flashback is famed South Australian kid’s character, Winky Dink, a lively young duck originally operated and voiced by Roz Ramsay, then later performed by children’s author Wendy Patching.
Winky Dink appeared on the children’s live television show The Channel Niners, produced by NWS-9 in the 1960s, initially hosted by Denny Snowden.
Winky also featured on its successor Super Cartoon Show and later C’mon Kids in the 1980s.
Nobody quite does a weather report like Winky Dink….

Great flashback…to my childhood. Used to watch C’mon Kids when I came home from school!
Thanks for the great flashback David!
Channel Niners and C’mon Kids, along with Here’s Humphrey and The Curiosity Show were a large part of my childhood TV viewing. I had to look up the hosts after watching the opening titles clip. Joanna Moore and Robin Roenfeldt are in the video above but Patsy Biscoe and Ian Fairweather were earlier hosts.
I did my school work experience at NWS9 and I remember having to make costumes for Winky Dink; when Wendy Patching was the voice. It was such a great show and place to do work experience
I was in the audience when C’mon Kids went on the road at Parramatta Westfield.

The memories come back after eating these clips. I’d forgotten about ‘Winky Dink’. Thanks. Must look up the Ossie Ostrich Video? Show that used to be on after school with co-host Jackie McDonald.
