Australian – UK co-production The Tourist has been renewed for a second season by the BBC.
Series 1, starring Jamie Dornan was a huge hit for the BBC, the highest-rating drama of 2022 so far, having launched with a huge 12 million viewers.
It also featured Danielle Macdonald, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Alex Dimitriades and Damon Herriman.
Series 2, yet to be formally announced by Stan, will be a 6 part series written by Harry and Jack Williams (Baptiste, The Missing, Liar), who will executive producer for Two Brothers Pictures alongside Christopher Aird and Tommy Bulfin for BBC One.
It’s not clear if S2 will again be set in Australia.

Agree – it was a 90 minute film stretched out over 6 hours – and not a great film at that. Guessing the second will be a completely different cast and story though. Not sure it’ll get 8m viewers without Jamie Dornan.
One of the worst dramas I’ve seen all year . To be fair it’s only March .
