Returning: Balthazar

Season 4 of French crime drama Balthazar, starring Tomer Sisley (Messiah), premieres next week on Acorn TV.

Seven months after the tragic events that brought Season 3 to a close, everything has changed for Balthazar (Tomer Sisley). His partner, friend, and soul mate, Hélène Bach is gone. His wife Maya is in prison awaiting trial and Balthazar, partying harder than ever, is burning the midnight oil to keep his mind off the cursed child growing in its mother’s womb.

It all topples over when Captain Camille Costes (Constance Labbé) steps in to replace Hélène and work with Balthazar. Outspoken, humorous, and boundlessly energetic, Camille has a bone to pick with Balthazar, ever since that wild night they spent together seven years ago.

Camille, a whirlwind of undiluted energy, stirs the pot, forcing Balthazar to face his demons. France’s foremost forensic doctor will be spared nothing. Neither the shrink sessions, nor his colleague, Dr Olivia Vésinet, catapulted to the helm of the Forensic Institute following several reports on Balthazar’s non-compliance with protocol; nor Maya, who continues to torture him from prison; nor his own childhood, which comes back to haunt him. Will Balthazar finally catch a bloody break?
