SKY News Election 2022 Channel

Dedicated election channel will feature major announcements, interviews and live press conferences.

SKY News will launch SKY News Election 2022 on Channel 603 tomorrow following yesterday’s announcement of a Federal Election date.

The dedicated 24×7 live channel will feature major announcements, interviews and Live press conferences.

From now until 21 May the SKY News team led by Chief News Anchor Kieran Gilbert, Political Editor Andrew Clennell, Political Reporters Laura Jayes, Tom Connell, Peter Stefanovic, Ashleigh Gillon and Business Editor Ross Greenwood, will cover rolling coverage and analysis.

Chief Election Analyst Tom Connell will also break down the data for viewers.

Throughout the campaign period, leaders in key and marginal electorates will face voter questions in a series of live televised debates, giving Sky News viewers unrestricted access to the faces and policies that matter most in the leadup to polling day.

The Sky News Marginal Seat Debates will see candidates face off in front of a live audience. The first debate will be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground in late April as Wentworth candidates Allegra Spender and Dave Sharma go head-to-head to swing public opinion.

Paul Murray will continue his Paul Murray Live: Pub Test series, taking politics to the people live from pub venues across the country. Local candidates will be tested on their policies as they take questions from the audience.

The first Pub Test for the 2022 series aired last month and featured Prime Minister Scott Morrison on the NSW Central Coast. The second was held in the electorate of Macquarie, Australia’s most marginal seat between Susan Templeman (Labor MP) and Sarah Richards (Liberal) in Springwood last Wednesday.

Coming up, the third Paul Murray Live Pub Test: The Mavericks will take place in southeast Queensland on April 19 at 8pm AEST and will feature Pauline Hanson, Clive Palmer, Campbell Newman and Bob Katter.

SkyNews.com.au will once again bring you all the expert views, breaking news, and in-depth analysis from Sky News Australia at SkyNews.com.au/Election.

Then on Saturday 21 May as Australians head to the polls, Sky News will deliver the most comprehensive coverage and analysis of election day, led by Chief News Anchor Kieran Gilbert and a panel of experts including Andrew Clennell and Peta Credlin.

  1. Election campaigns are one of those mysteries of human behavior that defies logic, why would any sane politician subject themselves to six weeks of media interrogation and verbal harassment. A two week campaign would be fine for me, and yes I don’t care about the lost advertising revenue. The Australian public don’t need 6 weeks to make a simple choice.
