Steve Carrell workplace comedy Space Force has ended at Netflix after two seasons.
While the show greated by Greg Daniels received mixed reviews, it was also an expensive production for Netflix, which recently saw shares plummet.
The series also starred series John Malkovich, Ben Schwartz, Tawny Newsome, Diana Silvers, Jimmy O. Yang and Don Lake. Lisa Kudrow played Naird’s wife, Maggie Naird, in the show’s first season, which also featured the late Fred Willard as his father.

Two seasons of Space Force was probably part of Steve Carrell’s Netflix deal so had to be fulfilled, but I’m not sure where the money went if it was a big budget show, it only had one substantial set and not a lot of CGI. I suspect that Carrell’s star status is waning and the show is just an average, predictable and not so funny comedy drama. Maybe they should have checked out the script writing of ‘I Dream of Jeannie’, for inspiration, classic stuff.
They made two seasons of this? Wow, I’m impressed!
I couldn’t make it through the first episode despite the great cast. Just not my cup of tea. But then I couldn’t stand The Office (either version) and this seemed similar to me. I hope everyone involved finds something else to do soon as there was a lot of really good talent involved in this production.
That’s disappointing. I really liked Space Force. But I’m glad they did a second season.
