Eurovision 2022: Azerbaijan

Nadir, the winner of The Voice of Azerbaijan, now takes to a global sing-off.

Eurovision: Semi Final Two.

Azerbaijan:
Nadir Rustamli
“Fade To Black”
Nadir has enjoyed a meteoric rise to fame in his native Azerbaijan. It’s been quite a year for the singer from Salyan, as his Eurovision participation was confirmed just 3 weeks after winning The Voice of Azerbaijan, where he stormed to victory with more than 40% of the audience’s votes in the grand final. During the series, the champ’s mentor was Eldar Gasimov, who is best known (outside of his country) for winning the Eurovision Song Contest in 2011, with Running Scared, a duet with Nikki. Nadir admits that Eurovision was on his mind when he picked Eldar, as representing his country on stage has been a lifelong ambition. That dream began as a child. Nadir took piano lessons for 7 years, studied in music school and, while at university, joined a band in which he performed lead vocals and served as the group’s artistic director, getting to indulge his creative side even further.
