US medical drama The Resident has been renewed for a sixth season.
The series stars Matt Czuchry as Dr. Conrad Hawkins and follows the doctors and nurses at Chastain Memorial Hospital as they face personal and professional challenges and fight for their patients’ health.
It also features Bruce Greenwood as Dr. Randolph Bell, Manish Dayal as Dr. Devon Pravesh, Malcolm-Jamal Warner as Dr. AJ Austin, Jane Leeves as Dr. Kit Voss, Jessica Lucas as Dr. Billie Sutton, Anuja Joshi as Leela Devi and Miles Fowler as Trevor.
Action drama 9-1-1: Lone Star has also been renewed for a fourth season.
“We’re in good faith negotiations with 20th [Century Television] and based on our long history with that company we think we’re in pretty good shape,” said Charlie Collier, CEO, FOX Entertainment.
The series follows firefighter Owen Strand (Rob Lowe), who moves with his troubled son from New York City to Austin, Texas to help the local fire station rebuild after a tragedy.
It also features Ronen Rubinstein, Jim Parrack, Sierra McClain, Natacha Karam, Brian Michael Smith, Julian Works, Rafael Silva and Gina Torres.
Both series screen in Australia on Seven.

David,
When will Season 6 of The Resident be fast-tracked on 7? It started in the USA a month ago.
David,
Any news on when 7 will screen Season 6 of The Resident? It has already aired fully in the USA.
No. I suspect that would be late night or 7flix or 7plus.
It’s a shame these great shows get shunted around our schedule and dont get to develop an audience. Your best option is 7+ or Disney+.
9-1-1 has also been renewed for Season 6 and also The Rookie (which also screens on Seven) has been renewed for Season 5! The Rookie: Feds is also coming! What a great time for some of my favorite dramas!
