Airdate: The Rehearsal

The Rehearsal looks to be one of 2022’s more unusual offerings.

The HBO series stars comedian Nathan Fielder, who also serves as writer, director, and executive producer.

In each episode, Fielder will help his subjects rehearse for big moments in their lives — a scary decision, a difficult conversation — using trained actors and elaborate replicas of real places.

The series’ concept is being marked as an examination of “the lengths one man will go to reduce the uncertainties of everyday life.”

With a construction crew, a legion of actors, and seemingly unlimited resources, Fielder allows ordinary people to prepare for life’s biggest moments by “rehearsing” them in carefully crafted simulations of his own design. When a single misstep could shatter your entire world, why leave life to chance?
