Former Beverly Hills 90210 star Tori Spelling made a surprise appearance as a singing Poodle on 10’s The Masked Singer last night.
The one-off performance had the guessing panel stumped with Mel B. convinced she was watching pal Emma Bunton at work. The extra Wednesday episode however didn’t draw in more viewers, perhaps with many forgetting the show was on….
It was The Block that again dominated the slow with 665,000 metro viewers and topping the demos.
That was ahead of 7:30 (481,000), MKR (466,000), Hard Quiz (430,000) and The Masked Singer (420,000 / 440,000 reveal).
Later Mad as Hell led with 475,000 then After the Verdict (311,000), Martin Clunes: Islands of the Pacific (244,000), Ghosts (192,000), Aftertaste (168,000) and Secret Scotland (139,000).
Nine network won Wednesday with 31.1% then Seven 27.0%, 10 17.4%, ABC 16.5% and SBS 8.1%.
Nine News (837,000 / 818,000) led for Nine. A Current Affair won with 672,000 then Hot Seat 417,000 / 271,000. Footy Classified was 118,000 across the network.
Seven News was #1 with 864,000 / 843,000. The Chase led with 510,000 / 323,000 then Home & Away (474,000). Air Crash Investigations managed 116,000.
The Project drew 327,000 / 221,000 for 10. 10 News First was 278,000 / 176,000. Bull was 130,000.
ABC News pulled 567,000 for ABC. The Drum (186,000), Win the Week (130,000) and The Last Leg (101,000) followed.
On SBS it was Tony Robinson’s History of Britain (160,000), SBS World News (119,000 / 117,000) and The Stranger (62,000).
Bluey led multichannels at 128,000.

If you watched 90210 in the 90’s. you know who tori is.
Donna Martin graduates

If u know…..u know.
So The Block lifted by 795,000 and MKR by 501,000 so higher than overnights (were 665,000 and 466,000), little wonder the Networks wanted these figures included.
Half the audience on Masked Singer were kids and wouldn’t have even heard of her. What’s with the b-list celebrities this season? I haven’t even head of that singer guy who was named Sparrow something or other
Wow, MKR doing okay in time shifted numbers. Thought Seven bringing the show back was way too soon but if numbers are steady they should be fine with it.
honestly i am majorly peeved off at this show atm, firstly the extra episode, i knew it was on but others say they missed out.
Secondly, how the *bleep* is any viewer supposed to guess who it is when even the panel have no bloody idea because the clues are just too stupidly random?!?!
and thirdly, they did not even give a rundown of what the clues meant at the end of it like they usually do!!!!
oh and also all the repeating of previous materials and the ludicrous amount of ad breaks! (lucky i time shifted it).
Not sure i am going to bother with the rest of the series after this! (i probably will tho as i luv the costumes & music & can’t resist the suspense lol)
Is this the first time your watching the series?? They always show a catch up episode before the finale.
Secondly the clauses were easy. I knew it was tori just by looking at the clues.
I didn’t even know the Masked Singer was on last night. They always screen it Sunday to Tuesday nights,so I wasn’t even expecting it to be on last night and missed it completely.
Did not see that coming. I thought Mel B was going to be right with her guess that Poodle was going to be Emma Bunton. But well done to Tori. She was great as Poodle. And I didn’t know she could sing. She’s pretty good.
Masked Singer lifted the slot for 10 last night which is good!
Can I just say though how silly it was for Osher to say Tori Spelling is the biggest star we have ever had on the show, and then Dave to reiterate it again after Tori took her mask off. Michelle and Macy are bigger stars! And Michelle was voted off just the episode before that they just filmed because they were all in the same clothes! How out of touch is that?
Why the producers allowed them to say that or made them to say that is beyond me, so out of touch and made us look like amateurs globally. Tori is a good get but she isn’t the biggest star or artist the show has ever had and Australians know that we aren’t stupid.
I would say Tori Spelling is more recognisable to the average punter than the two you named.
i agree, but saying ‘the biggest star’ when Tori is not even a professional singer (although she can def sing well), seems an exaggeration & kinda unnecessary really.
I don’t think she’s the biggest, but star can be for various disciplines and she definitely qualifies.
I guess everyone’s view is different. I would without doubt say that Tori spelling is by far better known in the world than all previous internationals such as Michelle, Anastasia and Macy.
I was shocked by the reveal last night but agree that they could have made the clues a little easier seeing as she was there for only one night. The equation on the blackboard did work out to be 90210 but you would hav head to be quick to get that one!!!!
But was it Emma Bunton singing? certainly sounded like it and I notice no maskless live performance by Tori at the end.
It would have been same audio track if it was, but will let conspiracy theories flourish!
