Former US actor William Reynolds, best known for ’60s drama The F.B.I. has died aged 90.

He died on August 24 from non-Covid pneumonia complications, family have confirmed.

After making guest appearances on the first two seasons of The F.B.I., he portrayed Special Agent Tom Colby opposite Efrem Zimbalist’s Inspector Erskine from 1966 – 1974.

He began his career under contract to Universal Pictures and had roles in Carrie, The Son of Ali Baba, The Desert Fox, Cult of the Cobra. Other film credits include The Battle at Apache Pass, Francis Goes to West Point, The Mississippi Gambler, Gunsmoke, There’s Always Tomorrow, Away All Boats and The Land Unknown.

In 1959, he starred in Pete Kelly’s Blues follwed by The Islanders, The Twilight Zone, Bronco, Wagon Train, The Roaring 20s, Cheyenne, Dragnet and Maverick.

Reynolds quit Hollywood after his role on The F.B.I. and became a businessman.
