2022 Federal Budget on ABC

ABC Budget night features Sarah Ferguson, David Speers, Stan Grant, Andrew Probyn, Laura Tingle, and Jeremy Fernandez.

ABC devotes next Tuesday night to the Federal Budget of 2022/23, Labor’s first in almost a decade.

ABC’s team includes Sarah Ferguson, David Speers, Stan Grant, Andrew Probyn, Laura Tingle, and Jeremy Fernandez.

7:30pm: The Treasurer Jim Chalmers’ speech.

8:00pm: Federal Budget Special hosted by Sarah Ferguson and David Speers from Canberra, featuring the first interview with Treasurer Jim Chalmers and Shadow Treasurer Angus Taylor, plus special guests discussing the winners and losers and what the budget means for you.

9:00pm: Federal Budget Special continues with further analysis and reaction, hosted by David Speers with Jeremy Fernandez getting community reaction in Packenham in south-east Melbourne.

At 9.30pm AEDT, ABC News channel will air a half hour The Business: Budget Special which can be seen on ABC TV at 11pm local. Join Kathryn Robinson as she talks with leaders of the Australian business community for their reaction to the budget.

ABC News digital will be helping audiences understand what the budget means for them with a live blog on Budget Night and the following morning answering the audiences’ questions, as well as an interactive Winners + Losers piece unpacking the budget announcement. Also Politics Explained will be returning to answer your questions and take you behind the scenes of the Budget process.

The ABC will also broadcast Opposition Leader Peter Dutton’s Budget Reply speech at 7:30pm (AEDT) on Thursday, 27th October, followed by a special edition of 7.30 at 8pm, And Q+A will answer all your budget questions live in Canberra with Stan Grant, broadcasting from The Street Theatre. Joining the panel – Finance Minister Katy Gallagher, Shadow Minister for Finance Jane Hume and Independent Member for Fowler Dai Le.
