Doctor Who: The Power of the Doctor: trailer

First look at Jodie Whittaker's final adventure in Doctor Who.

A trailer has been released for Jodie Whittaker’s final adventure in Doctor Who.

Feature-length episode  “The Power of the Doctor” screens on October 23 in the UK. This sees the Doctor fighting for her very existence, against her deadliest enemies: the Daleks, the Cybermen and her arch-nemesis, the Master.

Ncuti Gatwa is the new Doctor from 2024.

ABC is yet to confirm an Australian broadcast, but is likely to screen first on iview.

There is also a 90 minute TBA scheduled at 7:30pm on ABC TV Plus on Monday October 24, so I would put money on that…

Who is attacking a speeding bullet train on the edges of a distant galaxy? Why are seismologists going missing from 21st century Earth? Who is defacing some of history’s most iconic paintings? Why is a Dalek trying to make contact with the Doctor? And just what hold does the mesmeric Rasputin have over Tsar Nicholas in 1916 Russia?

The Doctor faces multiple threats…and a battle to the death.

  1. From Audience Support:
    “Thank you for writing.

ABC TV are happy to announce that Doctor Who: The Power of the Doctor will premiere on Monday, 24th October. It will be fast-tracked to ABC iview early that morning where you can watch it in HD. A time has not been announced yet so keep an eye for more information to appear on ABC view closer to the date.

Doctor Who: The Power of the Doctor will then air on ABC TV Plus in the evening at 7:30pm, as well as later in the week on ABC TV.

I do not have any advice regarding Whovians but I have passed along your email to ABC TV so that they are aware of your interest in seeing the program.”

  2. Considering that the current generations of Doctor Who has been struggling for some credibility with the shows once loyal and aging fan base, the description: ”The Doctor fighting for her very existence” seems apt, but it wont be the Dalek’s threatening this franchise. It will be interesting to see what score Rotten Tomatoes will give the show when its released. On a positive note the featured CGI looks good.

      1. Yes of course. The original post did also state ABC TV Plus, perhaps it was deleted as it will be aired on ABC TV instead, which is where it should be aired in HD. They should also be simulcasting the episode as they have done previously with series 8 and The Day of the Doctor.
