Oops. The Inbetweeners movie -with no dialogue.
British viewers perplexed, and strangely transfixed, by a transmission stuff-up.

British viewers were baffled when Channel 4 screened The Inbetweeners movie in full -but without any dialogue at all.
More bizarrely, the screening included sound effects and music. Just no words.
Some viewers suggested that the real dialogue track was on the audio description feed usually used to tell the visually impaired what’s on screen.

This is mad. Channel 4 are playing out the Inbetweeners Movie right now with no vocal track, just sound effects. Weirdly fascinating. Shows how much effort goes in to the sound design. pic.twitter.com/jjzxVXScyu

But some viewers found it weirdly addictive.
The Inbetweeners Movie is on Channel 4 but something is wrong with the sound so all that you can hear is sound effects and music and it's actually quite a testament to the work of film sound departments

The Inbetweeners Movie is on Channel 4 with no dialogue and I can't tell if it's a genius work of art or someone has pressed the wrong button. Either way I can't stop watching

Can’t stop watching The Inbetweeners Movie on Channel 4 even though there’s no dialogue track.

Channel 4 is yet to explain the issue.

With the exception of children’s programming which is dubbed into foreign languages in Europe, the programs are subtitled in the local language, and the audio descriptions are between dialogue. Another potential cause could be that the centre audio channel was excluded, or a loose audio cable.
Usually there is someone monitoring the broadcast. Not sure why they didn’t notice.
After 11 years since it was released, I guess the world has now got to the point that all the things said in The Inbetweeners is way to sensitive for todays audience, so Channel 4 just edited it all out.
j/k
Broadcasters always insist there is a “fully filled M&E” on the transmission master, for a reason that I cannot explain. Often I have heard both the M&E and the full English mix played together, which gives a weird result, and occasionally they only play the M&E, and this is one of those cases.
