New History-based streaming platform, Chronicle.

Chronicle, launched by Wildbear Entertainment, hosts hundreds of history docos from Australia & around the world.

A new Australian streaming service has launched specialising in History documentaries.

Chronicle is available at $12 per month or $99 a year, these include a free 7 day trial.

Launched by Wildbear Entertainment, it will feature a catalogue of library and Chronicle Originals.

“Curated by historians and documentarians, Chronicle is a must for history lovers with the best history documentaries from Australia and around the world available online across all platforms and devices,” a press release announced.

“Chronicle’s history library launches with hundreds of documentaries as well as live and exclusive content from eminent historians who interpret the stories on the platform.”

Michael Tear, CEO of Wildbear Entertainment said, “We know how much Australians love history programming. What is unique about Chronicle is that it is curated by historians and documentarians ensuring we present high quality programs. The viewing experience is further enhanced by expert commentary and opinion enabling audiences to go deeper into the stories that connect us all – that’s the power of history.”

Program highlights for launch include two Chronicle Originals, The Bomber: The Terror of World War II, a 6 x 1 hour series, narrated by Callan McAuliffe and As It Happened, which pulls back the curtain on some of the most shocking, notorious and captivating news stories of the past century.

Other highlights include Berkeley in the Sixties, Lionel, the story of Australian Indigenous boxing legend Lionel Rose, The Grand Tours of Scotland series, Kokoda: The Spirit Lives and the epic tome Price of Empire: WWII with archive and first-hand accounts from the Second World War.

Chronicle is supported by Screen Canberra and available on Desktop / Website, iOS, Apple TV, Android, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV.
