Returning: Slow Horses

Espionage drama led by Gary Oldman is back with new episodes in December.

New episodes of Slow Horses, starring Gary Oldman, will premiere in December on Apple TV+.

Season two directed by Jeremy Lovering finds long-buried Cold War secrets emerge which threaten to bring carnage to the streets of London. When a liaison with Russian villains takes a fatal turn, our hapless heroes must overcome their individual failings and raise their spy game in a race to prevent a catastrophic incident.

The ensemble cast includes Kristin Scott Thomas, Jack Lowden, Saskia Reeves, Rosalind Eleazar, Christopher Chung, Freddie Fox, Chris Reilly, Samuel West, Sophie Okonedo, Aimee-Ffion Edwards, Kadiff Kirwan and Jonathan Pryce.

“Slow Horses” is a darkly humorous espionage drama that follows a dysfunctional team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping-ground department of MI5 known un-affectionately as Slough House. Oldman stars as Jackson Lamb, the brilliant but irascible leader of the spies, who end up in Slough House due to their career-ending mistakes as they frequently find themselves blundering around the smoke and mirrors of the espionage world.

The series is produced for Apple TV+ by See-Saw Films and adapted for television by Will Smith (“Veep”). Jamie Laurenson, Hakan Kousetta, Iain Canning, Emile Sherman, Douglas Urbanski, Gail Mutrux, Will Smith, Jane Robertson and Graham Yost serve as executive producers on the series. Saul Metzstein is set to direct the third season.

Two episodes on Friday, 2 December continues weekly.

  1. This has been on my pile of shame for some time now. Was thinking last night “I’d like something quick to watch before ‘Yellowstone’ starts”. Sounds like it fits the bill.

  2. This is great news as really enjoyed season 1, had a good feel to it with that grumpy old sod in charge even though all trying to work together vibe.
