  1. I became fascinated by Elizabeth Debicki’s role as Princess Diana, Elizabeth is always highly noticeable in her roles but she really went to town with Diana’s trademark shy glance, it was only in later episodes that she seemed to capture that look convincingly, never the less her Diana was very convincing more often than not and hopefully the future tragic romance with Dodi Fayed will not delve too much into conspiracy theories, which seems to be a social media thing right now.

  2. Can’t believe the HFPA have set the bar so low to pick Pam and Tommy as a contender, it should be in a category all it’s own in the Golden Rasberry Awards 🫣

  3. For me the biggest disappointment not to be nominated is Meghann Fahy, her performance through out The White Lotus and in particular the final episode was nothing short of spectacular. For me she was this seasons MVP.

  4. Abbott Elementary, I stopped mid episode one, it was unwatchable.
The Bear surely can’t be considered comedy, there was no comedy in it, just a staff of terrible people and the drama is barely considered drama, it was chaos caused by the own stupidity and arrogance of the staff which made the story frustrating not compelling.

    1. Whilst I disagree with you regarding Abbott, I think it’s great, I have to largely nod my head in agreement with your Bear assessment. Certainly not a comedy (I think these awards shows are scared to nominate a half hour drama… The Patient was robbed btw!), and it was filled with unlikeable people screaming at each other with no real thoroughfare of compelling story. I liked it for the most part, Jeremy Allen White deserves a nod as he was constantly overlooked in Shameless, but I think it’s very overrated.

  5. Am I?.. Aand the rest of the world. seeing something that these people just don’t with Rhea Seehorn? I’m not sure what else she could’ve done tbh… Ditto Antony Starr from The Boys… the curse of the “superhero” genre not being respected continues, his work in that show is of a level few others could hope to achieve. Paddy Considine being snubbed for best supporting actor in a drama is a travesty also… and what the hell? They managed to pluck F Murray Abraham out of all the males involved in the White Lotus? How did they come to that…? Ditto John Toturro for his equally-as-good-as-everyone-else portrayal in Severance… seriously how do these people come to these decisions? What made him stand out?
I do have to laugh at horrifically wooden wet blanket Selena Gomez being nominated. She is so below average in that show… the mind boggles. I could go on and on… but I won’t. The GG awards are normally my fave too.

    1. Hear hear x2. The Seehorn anti-love has always been perplexing to me. Actually, the under-rating of Better Call Saul full stop is strange. I can only think it has to do with being attached to the Breaking Bad universe.. Or maybe the slow’ish 1st season. But a steep incline never stopped Schitt’s Creek from sweeping in their last season… And I’d argue BCS has improved just as much as that series.
As for Starr, good point. As much as I’ve enjoyed him immensely in both Banshee & The Boys, I do think he’s a limited actor. But his ability to convey so much in just a look or face twitch throughout The Boys has been fantastic. And then I see both Steve Martin & Martin Short nominated ahead of Starr in probably the same category and I wonder if those 2 can actually twitch their faces these days at all!
