Season 11 of Call the Midwife has its Free to Air premiere on ABC in early January.

The 8 part series includes Helen George, Leonie Elliot & Jenny Agutter, Judy Parfitt, Linda Bassett, Laura Main and Miriam Margolyes.

This has previously screened on Foxtel.

Following an eventful Christmas special, the series continues with an episode set in Easter 1967. Celebrations are underway for a colourful Easter Bonnet parade outside Nonnatus House. Sister Monica Joan and Reggie are excited about the Eurovision song contest and Nancy, having just passed her midwifery examinations, is about to don her red cardigan for the first time.

7:30pm Saturday January 7 on ABC.

  1. One of the Best shows on tv. As was Doc Martin and is The Good Doctor. Call the Midwife shows how life was back in the 50’s/early 60’s. It may be English, but it still portrays it extremely well. Midwife is human version of All Creatures as in era. I do vaguely remember the original as in Christopher Timothy.

  2. Thank you for this info David. Much appreciated. Love the line ‘Nancy will soon don her red cardigan for the first time’. I vaguely remember the same. I still have pics of me in my uniform including red cardigan!!. Im also enjoying the storyline of Dr Patrick Turner and Nun/Sister/Mrs Turner. I love their story now. I need to get the dvds to catch up.
    I also wonder if 9Gem will again replay 70’s movie The Railway Children?? starring Jenny Agutter among others as the eldest daughter. its one of my fave movies and always see it when its on. Her voice hasnt changed much in the 50 odd years since. Nor has her face much.
