Report: Prime Video to part with Jeremy Clarkson?

Sun may set on Clarkson’s Farm & The Grand Tour following his comments in The Sun newspaper.

US bible Variety is reporting Amazon Prime Video is likely to be parting ways with Jeremy Clarkson following his comments about Meghan Markle in UK newspaper, The Sun.

Clarkson swrote, “I hate her. Not like I hate [Scottish National Party leader] Nicola Sturgeon or [British serial killer] Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level.”

Referencing an infamous Game of Thrones scene he then suggested Markle be made to “parade naked” through Britain while people “throw lumps of excrement at her” but later apologised for the opinion piece.

In a subsequent apology made by Clarkson on Monday, he says the streamer was “incandescent” about his tirade against Markle and Prince Harry.

The Sun also made a rare apology, a week after the article was published.

A virtual press conference for Clarkson’s Farm was cancelled at 6 p.m. U.K. time on Monday, hours after Clarkson posted a fresh apology on Instagram.

The Grand Tour is also expected to conclude after four more special episodes around late 2024.

A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in a statement, “On Dec. 25, 2022, Mr. Clarkson wrote solely to Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex. The contents of his correspondence were marked Private and Confidential. While a new public apology has been issued today by Mr. Clarkson, what remains to be addressed is his long-standing pattern of writing articles that spread hate rhetoric, dangerous conspiracy theories, and misogyny. Unless each of his other pieces were also written ‘in a hurry,’ as he states, it is clear that this is not an isolated incident shared in haste, but rather a series of articles shared in hate.”

A new season of Clarkson’s Farm is currently due to screen on February 10th.

Prime Video declined to comment.

  1. Well he got all that free publicity, I’m sure he’s not that bothered he’s got his farm , collection of cars, houses, does Grand Tour and WWTAMillionaire. No mention though of “wanting to shoot a polar bear in the face” after M Markle referred to climate change and “being a silly cable actress”. He really does have anger and misogynistic issues. He’s a vile person who obviously thrives on his tendencies towards hate but thrives on controversy. He’s just not worth the bother. But glad he’s getting called out.

  2. Is this an end of contract situation, the announcement is giving plenty of warning. Gotta admit the last 2 Grand Tour specials have been wanting, but it has been covid induced. Clarksons Farm I believe has been confirmed for season 3 along with the May and Hammond series are ongoing.
