Where is Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches?

AMC+ failed to launch new series and has not issued a new date for Australian viewers.

Several readers have complained that AMC+ did not launch Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witcheson its advertised date of January 8.

The series is the second in the Anne Rice Immortal Universe for the streaming platform following the glowing reception for Interview with the Vampire.

It was originally announced in October for January 5 but later that same month, shifted to January 8 where it dropped in the USA.

But Australian viewers have missed out.

“Seems to be lots of unhappy people on social media that feel annoyed that they’ve been promoted to, then all of a sudden, it’s yet to materialise with no word or warning or change,” one reader said.

A spokesperson for AMC+ did not outline to TV Tonight why the show failed to launch, and has not supplied a new date.

Where streaming platforms are charging for content, it is important to be transparent with subscribers.

On Rotten Tomatoes the series currently has a score of 42%.

  1. A friend has been asking me about this too, as I’m more into the streaming tech world. Just confirming: was is actually advertised as streaming in Australia on Jan 8, or did people (understandably) assume it was then…based on an AMC+ generic/worldwide announcement? If the former – and people paid up for a month to watch it – surely there would be a case for a refund?

      1. I did exactly that, paid a year upfront for this exact show only. I have 22 emails back and forth with AMC+ trying to get a refund since they falsely advertised a show, then took money, then pulled the show. They refused on multiple occasions to refund. Refused to give a release date at all. And keep closing my case as “resolved”.

  2. AMC+ Australia is by far the worst streamer I have come across. Their promised pipeline has been scrapped outside of Anne Rice, new programs (or is it their cable specific programs) sold to other streamers (Lucky Hank following Better Call Saul on Stan)

I thought was getting a bargain with their 50% off deal, now I’m stuck with a streamer that doesn’t have any new programming.

    1. This.

I also signed up for the deal and have since regretted it. The app is the worst. It can’t seem to detect when you’ve watched an ep and it clogs your android tv “watch next” row with shows you’ve already viewed due to the same reason. I’m also randomly crashes. Used it on android tv, fire tv and iPhone and have the same result.

I was looking forward to the second season of Kevin can f himself only to find they held it over until December and then released eps weekly. By this time it had already aired in the US.

I really wanted to like AMC+ but won’t be renewing it unless they get more active with their content and fix their app.

  3. 42% on the Tomato meter means that 58% of published reviews were assessed as negative by Tomato’s checkers. They also have a meter for respected critics in the mainstream media, there 72% of reviews were negative. It has a 60% positive fan votes an a 6.7 on IMDB, so it is clearly a genre show that is watchable by fans but isn’t going to win any awards or find a broader audience.

  4. Before an episode of Interview With the Vampire I viewed last week I received a promoted ad for it on AMC+. I went looking for it to watch and couldn’t find it.
