Airdate: Wildlife ER

The RSPCA wildlife hospital treats a mother and baby koala duo and captures an evasive barn owl in new SBS series.

Six part observational series Wildlife ER follows professionals and volunteers on the front lines of rescuing and caring for sick and injured wild animals.

The series filmed at RSPCA Wildlife Hospital is created by Veronica Fury and Stephen Waller.

Wildlife ER offers a rare insight into the care and treatment of sick and injured native animals at Australia’s busiest wildlife hospital. Across six engaging episodes, we follow dedicated professionals and volunteers as they work to save iconic and often endangered species that are struggling to survive human encroachment into their habitats.

From dramatic rescues, through to life saving surgery, extraordinary treatments and remarkable round the clock care, we witness the journey of a range of creatures, great and small, right up to the moment of release. It can be dangerous, challenging and sometimes confronting but the wildlife team approach it all with an endearing mix of skill, passion and humour – as they work to return these vulnerable native animals back to their natural world.
