Auditions: Ultimate Escape

Teams of two will attempt a high-stakes search and rescue operation in new Seven series, but only one needs to complete the physical challenges.

Seven has announced surprise casting for a new competition reality series, Ultimate Escape.

Based on a Finnish format, it will feature everyday Australian heroes race the clock and each other as they try to complete an epic journey.

Teams of two will attempt a high-stakes search and rescue operation in some of the toughest and most beautiful terrain on the planet. Only one team member needs to be able to tackle the physical challenges, while the other will rely on their smarts to compete for a big cash prize.

Filming is expected to take place overseas across 5 weeks in May – June 2023.

Seven’s Chief Content Officer, Entertainment Programming, Angus Ross, said: “We’re excited to partner with Helium on this electrifying new format. Ultimate Escape is gripping TV, offering viewers fast-paced, jaw-dropping action supercharged by real emotion.”

Helium’s Chief Creative Officer, Mark Fennessy, said: “Ultimate Escape is immersive, edge-of-the-seat, big event TV. With a stunning backdrop and teams of unique Australians, this groundbreaking series is like a blockbuster movie come to life.”

The series will screen later this year.

Teams of two, aged 18 years and over, can apply at www.ultimateescapecasting.com.au

  1. This show looks great. Wish i could get 5 weeks off work to audition and go on the show. Glad Ch 7 are trying something different for once. Hopefully Sonia isn’t the host of this as well.

  2. Just waiting for the Australian knock off version of Frozen with Fear with Wim Hof to pop up on FTA. I’m constantly amazed at the creativity they use with TV shows to “talked up” and use hype to get viewers in.
