Natasha Exelby departs 10 News First

"Time for a new chapter!" says 10 News presenter.

10 News First presenter Natasha Exelby will sign off tomorrow after many years with the network.

On social media she told her followers,

“I can EXCLUSIVELY reveal I’m departing 10 News First this Friday. I look forward to drawing on my 20 years in journalism for the next adventure!

“Working in more than 50 countries and meeting extraordinary people has been the greatest privilege of my life so far.

“I somehow survived a military coup while living in Turkey where my house was sprayed with bullets. Reporting from nations like Afghanistan, Syria and Iraq…. learning their stories of torture and loss, has taught me humility, and the breathtaking brilliance of humanity – even when unimaginable evil strikes.

“Joining refugees on their harrowing journey from the Middle East, across the Aegean Sea to Europe is a life lesson in bravery and grit that will stay with me forever.

“The resilience and brilliance I observed in the Hong Kong uprising was mind blowing. And in our own backyard, meeting those who’ve lost everything through bushfires and floods, and STILL getting up to fight another day, makes me so proud to be Australian.

“Covering the Tokyo Olympics has been a true highlight. What a pleasure to report on happy news after 2 years of covid chaos!

“I’ve spent half of my career at TEN and so many colleagues have become friends and even family…. And will be forever ♥️”

Exelby returned to 10 in 2019 after earlier stints from 2008 – 2013, and regular appearances on Studio 10, I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and Wake Up.

“But it’s time for a new chapter! (Details after the break …. Stay tuned)” she added.

“But for now, it’s Good Night & Good Luck! Stay Classy Australia! I’ll be back!”

  1. Wish her all the best. But the farewell piece, should be for LinkedIn, not on Insta.
Never understood why news people puff their achievements. They do a job like most people do, it feels like bragging when they “have had the privilege of…”.

  2. I’ve always had a soft spot for Natasha – nice to see a presenter with some personality. She can or should be able to do much better than Ten… here’s hoping for better things in the near future!
