Peter van Onselen departing 10

10 political editor Peter van Onselen is leaving the network to return to academia.

He joined the network in 2018 from SKY News Australia, becoming political editor 4 years ago. He has also co-hosted The Project and election night coverage for 10.

Last year he was also named in a lawsuit brought by reporter Tegan George against her employer over workplace conditions, but there’s no suggestion the departure is linked.

He will reportedly continue his regular column for The Australian in addition to his role as Professor of Politics & Public Policy, UWA Business School.
