US actor best known for Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down and China Beach, has died.

US actor Tom Sizemore best known for Saving Private Ryan, Black Hawk Down and China Beach, has died, aged 61.

He died in his sleep on Friday, US time, at a hospital in California, surrounded by family, following a brain aneurysm late last month.

Sizemore featured as Sgt. Mike Horvath in Saving Private Ryan and featured in Black Hawk Down, Pearl Harbor, Born on the Fourth of July, Point Break, True Romance, Natural Born Killers, Strange Days and Wyatt Earp.

His TV credits include Sgt. Vinnie Ventresca in China Beach plus the 2017 revival of Twin Peaks Cobra Kai, Entourage and Hawaii Five-O.

But he was also the subject of two workplace sexual harassment lawsuits related to 2002’s Robbery Homicide Division. In 2003 he was convicted of domestic abuse against former girlfriend and Hollywood madam Heidi Fleiss. He was jailed from 2007 to 2009 for failing numerous drug tests while on probation and was arrested as recently as 2016 in another domestic violence case.

Sizemore struggled with addiction throughout his life and was arrested for drug possession as recently as 2019.

He featured on Celebrity Rehab with Dr Drew in 2010.
