Marvel Studios’ sci-fi espionage thriller Secret Invasion, featuring Samuel L. Jackson & Ben Mendelsohn, is set to screen in June on Disney+.

Set in the present day MCU, Nick Fury learns of a clandestine invasion of Earth by a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls. Fury joins his allies, including Everett Ross, Maria Hill and the Skrull Talos, who has made a life for himself on Earth. Together they race against time to thwart an imminent Skrull invasion and save humanity.

The series also stars Cobie Smulders, Martin Freeman, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Charlayne Woodard, Killian Scott, Samuel Adewunmi, Dermot Mulroney, Christopher McDonald, Katie Finneran, with Emilia Clarke and Olivia Colman, and Don Cheadle.

Ali Selim directs the series and executive-produces, along with fellow executive producers Kevin Feige, Jonathan Schwartz, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Samuel L. Jackson, Ali Selim, Kyle Bradstreet and Brian Tucker. Kyle Bradstreet is also the head writer, and Jennifer L. Booth, Allana Williams and Brant Englestein serve as co-executive producers.

Wednesday June 21 on Disney+.

  1. ‘One last fight’, until the next one, I would say. Nick Fury makes a welcome return to Marvel but it’s unclear if other known Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will have a roll call in this series as well, but the premium casting for the supporting characters in the show looks promising, which makes me wonder if this title was originally considered for a mainstream movie release, but with their Marvel franchise in decline at the box office Disney changed their mind.
    As a sci-fi fan I hope that Secret Invasion gets a balanced review by critics and Marvel fans alike, but this is also up to Marvel and Disney as well.
