Axed: Sex / Life

Spicy series recently ended after two seasons, following comments by lead star.

US drama series Sex / Life was recently axed by Netflix.

The series followed Billie Connelly (Sarah Shahi), a wife and mother who, after growing tired of her boring suburban life, began journaling and fantasising about her passionate exploits with ex-boyfriend Brad.

The series also starred Aussie Adam Demos as Brad, Margaret Odette as Sasha, Mike Vogel as Cooper, Jonathan Sadowski as Devon and Li Jun Li as Francesca.

During a podcast interview last week, Shahi openly criticised Sex / Life‘s second season, saying that the production process was “definitely a challenge” and she “did not have the support that I did in the first season from the people involved in the show. It became a much different thing for me — and I’m not afraid to say that.”

“I mean, I’m never gonna work for Netflix again now after saying all this, but I can’t lie,” she said.

Shahi also said she “struggled with the material” in Season 2, including being “bummed” about her lack of screen time with co-star and real-life boyfriend Demos.

A Netflix spokesperson confirmed it had been cancelled after two seasons, having come to a natural close after season two.
