Dateline: April 25

This week’s Dateline sees presenter Ben Lewis head to the Ukraine one year on from Russia’s invasion to meet the teenagers coming of age in a war zone.

It features three Ukranian teens who provide a glimpse of what it’s like to fall in love, deal with grief, and head off to war in present-day Ukraine.

Participants include:

Oleksii – a 16 year old aspiring actor who has lived bunkered down in the theatre his parents own in downtown Kharkiv ever since Russia’s invasion.

Alevtina – an 18 year old fine arts student whose mother was killed by Russian troops on a routine trip to their local grocery store.

Artem – a 19 year old Russian-born Ukranian soldier whose parents fled to Kharkiv back when Vladimir Putin first gained power.
