Diljá burst onto the Icelandic music scene at the beginning of 2023 with her ‘Söngvakeppnin’ (Iceland’s national final) entry ‘Power’. Being a new name on a big stage can sometimes be challenging but that didn’t phase this young and powerful singer-songwriter, as Diljá quickly became a fan favourite with her message of self-improvement and taking back her own power resonating strongly with the Icelandic people. The song was written and produced by a big name in Icelandic pop, Pálmi Ragnar Ásgeirsson, who was also behind María Ólafs’ Eurovision 2015 entry Unbroken. Off-stage, Diljá is a physiotherapy student and a committed CrossFit athlete. A self-proclaimed ‘Eurovision nerd’, it’s always been Diljá’s dream to represent her nation at the Contest.
