Harry Garside charged over domestic violence allegations

I'm a Celebrity runner-up is charged with common assault after returning home from Africa, but plans to fight allegations.

Boxer Harry Garside, runner-up on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, has been charged with common assault after he was arrested at Sydney Airport yesterday.

The 25-year-old was met by NSW Police detectives when he arrived home from South Africa with his father Shaun and was escorted by two Australian Federal Police officers into a waiting car.

Garside was interviewed over an alleged incident in March with his ex-girlfriend Ash Ruscoe at her Bondi apartment.

NSW Police said: “A 25-year-old man was arrested at Sydney International Airport about 2.40pm today (Tuesday 2 May 2023), following an investigation by officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command into reports of an alleged domestic violence-related incident involving a 32-year-old woman.

“He has been taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with common assault (DV).”

Garside was granted conditional bail and will appear at Downing Centre Local Court on May 24.

Asked if he would be fighting the charges, Garside told Channel Seven: “Of course.”

Meanwhile, Garside  is separately facing a legal battle over comments he made about his boxing manager on the 10 series, with reports boxing manager Peter Mitrevski Jnr is now prepared to sue Garside and Network 10.
