Returning: The Great Australian Bake Off

Rachel Khoo, Darren Purchese, Natalie Tran and Cal Wilson will premiere new season in June.

The Great Australian Bake Off returns to LifeStyle in mid June with new hosts and judges.

Judging are chefs Rachel Khoo and Darren Purchese, alongside new hosts, comedians Natalie Tran and Cal Wilson.

Rachel Khoo said: “I have absolutely loved being on The Great Australian Bake Off. A total dream job! It has been such a joy to see and taste the bakers’ creations and also to be part of such a fun new line up with Darren, Natalie and Cal.”

Together Rachel and Darren welcome twelve home baking enthusiasts who they will mentor through a series of mouth-watering challenges that will test the baker’s skills and creativity. Rachel and Darren will task the bakers each episode with three themed baking challenges – Signature, Technical, and Showstopper covering everything from desserts, cakes, biscuits, breads, and pastries in a bid to discover and unearth Australia’s best amateur baker. After 10 weeks and thirty delicious challenges, one baker will rise and ultimately be crowned The Great Australian Bake Off winner.

The Bake Off franchise began in 2010 with The Great British Bake Off, where it became a ratings phenomenon. The format has been produced locally in 35 countries including the US, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, Poland, Ireland, Norway, Finland, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, Turkey, Ukraine, Algeria and France. Now into its sixth season in Australia, The Great Australian Bake Off, won ‘Reality Series Production of the Year’ last week at the Screen Producers Australia Awards.

The Great Australian Bake Off is a BBC Studios production in Australia for Foxtel based on a format created by Love Productions and licensed by BBC Studios distribution.

Tuesdays at 8.30pm from June 13 on LifeStyle.
