  1. Thank you so very much for your sheer hard work in collating these figures, David. Kudos to you. Obviously ch 2 came out on top re the amount of times it figures. I was on 9 mainly, with a bit of 7 and 2. I was rather interested in what the ratings would be as 2,7,9 and 10 all had the coverage simultaneously. So to itemise all the ratings in descending order is/was quite the feat, and being the Coronation, it probably made it more difficult, ie trying to distinguish what was what.
Thanks so very much again, David.

  2. The BBC coverage on Channel 10 and ABC (after all the local talking heads here moved on) came out best. Huw Edwards, Kirsty Young, Clare Balding and Sophie Raworth were an example to the world of ‘top-class’ commentators. They made me homesick for the UK (not for the monarchy as I’m a republican), but for the standard of their presentation.

  3. Hello DK ,what were the ratings for the NRL and AFL on the primary channel for 7 and 9 please ,they should have just stuck to the main for both codes unless otherwise contracted.

    1. Apologies for my incoherent question DK ,I should have said they would have been better putting the Coronation on the main channels and the Sport on the multi channels if that were possible for all States.

    1. I watched the Westminster Abbey service on Channel 10 because their watermark was less intrusive than ABC.
(apart from a message to switch to news)

Channel 9 and Channel 7 had garbage all over the screen for their coverage.

      1. We watched Channel 10 also but can’t understand the low ratings number. I have seen nothing but complaints about the ABC with the carry on about the English. Should be ashamed of themselves to allow it to continue. 9 and 7 weren’t favourable so I have read, but rated okay.

    2. I thought Ten’s coverage and commentation was better than most of the other FTA networks…I’m sure Seven and ABC would be happiest about yesterday’s ratings, but I wouldn’t describe Ten’s as absymal.

      1. Ten did a good job with their coverage and commentation. While it didn’t get the ratings that Seven, the ABC, and Nine had, the fact that they are getting praised for it by multiple people here and other sites could attract more viewers to their coverage of major events in the future.

    3. In the Top 20 276K number 16 and I watched Ten from 7pm to about 10 and it was the better telecast , no annoying logos like 7 and 9 and a giant banner across the bottom of the screen telling us its The King’s Coronation , well frigging der so yes it was 10 for the night for me.

  4. Very rare to see Nine’s Coronation Ceremony outrate Seven News in Perth.
I noticed that the AFL on 7mate, but what happened to melbourne viewers?

      1. Knoxy has always suggested readers look to “shares%” when rankings are complex… Looks like Seven had the night by some margin whichever way you cut in, even the No. 1 program, News (every market too) and Coronation. Despite probably disappointing performances after 7:30pm for Seven Melbourne and Nine Sydney & Brisbane where they chose not to move AFL and NRL and it back-fired, though judging by 7mate Fremantle game in Perth did well considering and from a multi-channel perspective 7Two Melbourne and 9Gem Sydney were also impressive to an extent. ABC and surprisingly 10 also did very well. Everyone cancelled each other out. As for the week, Nine came home with a very wet sail, after some great results such as nearly 700k metro for Travel Guides and I think the week’s top non-news if you exclude Seven’s Coronation?
