UK broadcaster cuts ties with Escape To The Chateau couple

"We have taken the decision not to work with Dick and Angel on any new productions in the future," says Channel 4.

British broadcaster Channel 4 has severed ties with Escape To The Chateau stars Dick and Angel Strawbridge.

Channel 4 have now ordered an independent investigation into their conduct, but the reason for it is unclear.

Concerns were originally raised by production company Two Rivers Media who will no longer work with the couple, Deadline reports.

Two Rivers said: “We can confirm that we will no longer work with Dick and Angel and cannot comment further at the moment.”

A Channel 4 spokeswoman said: “Following a review, we have taken the decision not to work with Dick and Angel on any new productions in the future.”

The Strawbridges are yet to comment on the claims. A representative for the couple has previously refuted allegations of improper behaviour.

The ninth and final season screned in the UK in December.

A number of spin-off series were in the works, including travel show Escape To The Chateau: Secret France, which has wrapped and is currently being edited. Channel 4 is yet to confirm whether it will be broadcast.

Dick and Angel Strawbridge toured Australia and New Zealand in February / March.

  1. I’ve loved this show from the beginning. I accidentally ran into Dick and Angel in March when it was night and raining whilst crossing a bridge in Brisbane they were looking for directions after a show and they said how much Brisbane reminded them of London. I was a bit gobsmacked because I’ve been to London and for me there’s no comparison. They were lovely to talk to and said the kids were back in the hotel with Angels parents. They will do okay because they have several books published, various linen lines, knives etc and even Walled Garden Gin at £45 a bottle, so I imagine all that will continue to fund the renovations.

    1. From reading the book, most of their revenue comes from the weddings, Food weekends, and accommodation. Plus all the other things that Cats PJ as mentioned. The TV revenue was a small amount and not a contributor to their renovations. Since the Chateau is virtually finished the funds now will go towards up keep I would assume.
I wish them all the best and thank them for sharing their lives and adventures with us!
