New Seven reality contest Million Dollar Island will premiere on Monday June 12.

Based on a Dutch format and filmed in Malaysia, the series sees 100 contestants compete for the chance to win $1 million.

Hosted by Ant Middleton is it produced by Eureka Productions.

The show will compete with MasterChef Australia and Parental Guidance.

Farmers, retail workers, garbos, nurses, real estate agents and more leave the real world to fight for the $1 million prize. One hundred everyday Aussies land on a remote desert island, each wearing a bracelet worth $10,000. They gain or lose bracelets by competing in games, forming alliances, scheming or stealing while trying to survive the harsh conditions with limited means.
