Three part documentary series Rainbow Warrior: Murder In The Pacific, whic hwas famously bombed in 1985 in NZ, begins tonight on SBS.

Greenpeace activists sail to the Pacific on board their flagship Rainbow Warrior; but their mission to disrupt French nuclear weapons testing is thwarted when two bombs sink the ship and kill a crew member. In the biggest police case in New Zealand’s history a shocking act of international sabotage is revealed, sanctioned at the highest level, with repercussions that threaten to bring down a government.

Episode One:
Activists Bunny McDiarmid and Peter Willcox are amongst the activists who set sail to the Pacific in 1985 on board Greenpeace’s flagship Rainbow Warrior. Their mission, to disrupt the nuclear weapons testing that has blighted local communities, is thwarted when two bombs sink their ship and kill a crew member. The quest to find the killers begins.
