Outrageous biopic starring Daniel Radcliffe will screen on 10 in August.

2022 movie Weird: The Al Yankovic Story starring Daniel Radcliffe will screen on 10, having debuted on Paramount+ in March.

The film also stars Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld, Across the Universe) as Madonna, Rainn Wilson (The OfficeThe Meg) as Dr. Demento, Toby Huss (Cop Shop, Halloween) as Nick Yankovic and Julianne Nicholson (I, Tonya, Mare of Easttown) as Mary Yankovic.

The film won two awards at the recent Critics’ Choice Awards.

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is the outrageous biopic of the unique artist who gained fame and fortune by parodying hit songs. A true-life story about the man who turned twisting popular lyrics into a hugely successful career had to be equally twisted, befitting the man, the myth, the legend known to the world as “Weird Al” Yankovic. The film follows Weird Al’s meteoric rise from misfit kid to aspiring accordion player to chart-topping megastar (in an extremely specific genre of music), revealing his decadent lifestyle, his torrid affair with the Material Girl herself, and his shocking encounter with an infamous international drug lord.

The comedy film was directed by Eric Appel (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Silicon Valley, Die Hart), marking his feature film directorial debut, and written by Al Yankovic & Appel. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story was produced by Mike Farah, Joe Farrell, Whitney Hodack, Tim Headington, Lia Buman, Max Silva, Al Yankovic and Eric Appel, with Henry Muñoz III, Neil Shah and Zachary Halley serving as executive producers. Behind-the-scenes, Appel collaborated with director of photography Ross Riege, editor Jamie Kennedy, costume director Wendy Benbrook, and production designer Dan Butts. The original music was composed by Leo Birenberg and Zach Robinson. Al Yankovic served as supervising music producer and Suzanne Coffman was the music supervisor.

Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is a Roku original film, made by A Funny Or Die and Tango Production.

8pm Saturday 5th August on 10.
