An extended Weekend Sunrise is live from Brisbane today for a special community reception for the Matildas.
From 10.30am AEST Monique Wright and Matt Doran will cross live to Mel McLaughlin and Matt Carmichael at Brisbane’s Riverstage in the City Botanic Gardens where the Matildas will receive the Keys to the City.
It is here fans will have the chance to thank their football heroes and celebrate their historic FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ campaign to reach the third-place play-off, Australia’s best-ever result at a FIFA World Cup™, men’s or women’s.
The Matildas have captured the hearts of the nation in their gutsy campaign for a maiden title, turning the country green and gold and crushing attendance and TV ratings records along the way. Seven’s coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ has so far reached 14.04 million broadcast viewers, plus another 3.4 million on 7plus. More than 433 million minutes of content has been watched on 7plus to date.
