2023 Spring Racing Carnival on Seven

Seven broadcasts The Everest and the Caulfield Guineas in mid October.

Seven screens the 2023 Spring Racing Carnival, from both Melbourne and Sydney in October 14.

In partnership with Racing NSW and the Melbourne Racing Club, Seven will broadcast the both The Everest and the Caulfield Guineas together.

Legendary sports broadcaster Bruce McAvaney will again host joined by Hamish McLachlan, Emma Freedman, Jason Richardson, Katelyn McDonald, Emily Bosson, Lizzie Jelfs and Kate Waterhouse.

Head of Network Sport, Lewis Martin said: “Seven, Racing New South Wales and the Melbourne Racing Club remain committed to growing the sport of racing and ensuring its long-term health in this country, and working together to bring Australians mass-cultural events like Australia’s Greatest Race Day demonstrates the strength and value of our partnership.

“The future of racing will be underpinned by an investment in unity and innovation, and we’re excited to deliver all the biggest race days from both Melbourne and Sydney live and free on Seven and 7plus.

“It will be a non-stop parade of Australia’s most prestigious races – and the only place for racing fans this Spring is Seven,” he said.

Racing NSW Chief Executive Peter V’landys AM said: “If you think of racing, you immediately think of Seven. The best-in-class coverage they provide satisfies the needs of all viewers in a professional and entertaining style. However, they also have the legend Bruce McAvaney, and you would watch the coverage just to enjoy his brilliance.”

Melbourne Racing Club CEO, Josh Blanksby, said: “We are excited to further our collaboration with the Seven Network and Racing NSW for the betterment of racing, punters and our customers. Saturday 14 October is shaping up to be more than just a race day; it’ll be a national celebration of the sport we love and will continue right through to Whispering Angel Caulfield Spring Finale on Saturday 2 December.”

With a combined $38 million of prize money on offer, the unmissable action is set to thrill as the world’s richest race on turf, The Everest, and the blue riband race for three-year-olds, the Caulfield Guineas, are run at Royal Randwick and Caulfield Racecourse respectively from midday on 14 October, live and free on Channel 7 and 7plus.

Australia’s Greatest Race Day headlines a massive spring on Seven, with the most celebrated meets on the Australian thoroughbred racing calendar and a procession of Group 1 races.
