First look images: Griselda

Netflix has released  first look images of Sofia Vergara in her dramatic debut playing the role of Griselda Blanco in the 6-episode limited series, Griselda.

Griselda is inspired by the life of the savvy and ambitious Colombian businesswoman Griselda Blanco, a devoted mother who created one of the most profitable cartels in history. Blanco’s lethal blend of unsuspected savagery and charm helped her expertly navigate between business and family, leading her to become widely known as “The Godmother.”

The cast also includes Alberto Guerra (Dario Sepúlveda), Christian Tappan (Arturo Mesa), Martín Rodríguez (Rivi Ayala), Juliana Aidén Martinez (June Hawkins), Vanessa Ferlito (Carmen Gutiérrez).

  1. There have been at least two other Netflix drug cartel series with a female lead character such as Telemundo’s La Reina Del Sur, and of course the American spin-off titled Queen of the South which lasted for 62 episodes. I will watch an episode or two of Griselda just to see what its like but once you’ve seen one drug cartel show you have seen them all, whether there’s a ‘Godmother’ in charge or not.
